i trying write function convert string lpcwstr. here's have:

i've run code debugging, , @ return line, transmitted string sits safely in w. however, when returns, looks this:

...so basically, garbage. doing wrong?

your wide string, w, goes out of scope @ end of function , destroyed.

the value returned c_str() no longer points valid data.

return wide-string instead, , use c_str() on @ location needed.

wstring stows(string str) {     return wstring(str.begin(), str.end()); }  //...  wstring ws = stows("hello");  api_call_needing_lpcwstr(ws.c_str());
