java - JFlex successor -

jflex quite old scanner generator; last version (1.4.3) has been released in 2009, , v1.5 on trunk long time. wonder if has found successor , replacement jflex? scanner generator can process more-less same grammar files; , yet produce better (read: faster) code - jflex still can improved in areas (table optimization etc). see intellij idea uses patched jflex (haven't got chance try yet).

so have used scanner generator (or full parser) can replace jflex rather easily?

please, if answer this, give details in how new lib better you.

edit: on jflex repo, there branch called 1.4.3-fixes, , using 1 contain important patches. there latest 1.5.0 snapshot, yet not sure if production ready.
